Prepare for a Splash: MetaZoo’s Torrential Tides Expansion Revealed

A tidal wave is crashing into the world of MetaZoo - and it's bringing new cryptids, mechanics, and gameplay strategies with it.

Today (Monday, May 26th, 2025), trusted MetaZoo community figure MetaZooCrew shared what appears to be a distributor pre-order leak for Torrential Tides, the first major expansion in the MetaZoo TCG universe. The reveal included images of the booster box and four unique booster pack artworks along with the tagline "Who's ready for Water?"

While there has been no official announcement yet from GameQBator Labs, the leak appears to originate from official distributor materials - meaning its about as close to "unofficially official" as it gets.

Welcome to Torrential Tides

Torrential Tides is a full expansion set themed entirely around aquatic cryptids and environments. It's designed to make waves across both casual and competitive play by introducing powerful new Water Aura cards - along with support from the other core Aura types.

Featured cryptids include:

Loveland Frogman – An arcane amphibian from the rivers of Ohio, this spell-slinging cryptid is as mysterious as the lights it conjures.
Sewer Alligator – Born from New York legends, this subterranean predator thrives in the darkness — and now it’s surfacing with bite.
Colossal Koi – A myth from sacred eastern ponds, grown massive through time and magic. Peaceful no more — it commands the current.
Loch Ness Monster – Scotland’s most elusive legend rises from the depths, more than a shadow — a serpent of tidal power.
Yeti – From Himalayan snows to crashing surf, this ancient brute trades peaks for floodplains — and still hits like an avalanche.

Each booster pack contains 11 cards and features stunning art showcasing a mix of whimsical and intimidating sea-dwellers. Four pack arts were revealed so far, each highlighting a different headliner cryptid.
