Casters,
This week’s Community Spotlight shines on MetaZooKeepers, the duo of Squiggz and Zren. After discovering MetaZoo at Collect-A-Con NJ, they were instantly hooked by the mix of gameplay, art, and community spirit. Since then, they’ve gone all-in—launching a platform that blends high-energy pack openings and gameplay with a competitive focus, while also developing tools like a community-driven deck builder and an upcoming player vs. AI feature. Their mission? To make MetaZoo more accessible and engaging for everyone. Read below for their full interview!

MetaZoo News (MZN): Thanks for taking the time to do this interview! Can you start by introducing yourself (and/or your team) and sharing how MetaZooKeepers began?
MetaZooKeepers (MZKeepers): We’re Squiggz and Zren, the duo behind MetaZooKeepers. We first discovered MetaZoo at Collect-A-Con NJ when Ben taught us how to play, and we were instantly hooked on the game, the art, and the community. Since then, we’ve been all in!
MZN: What first drew you into MetaZoo, and what made you want to create content for the game?
MZKeepers: What really drew us in was the mix of gameplay, the unique art style, and the super welcoming community. We felt that right away at Collect-A-Con. Creating content just felt like the best way to share that excitement and be part of growing the community ourselves.
MZN: For those unfamiliar, what kind of content does MetaZooKeepers focus on, and what is your mission in the community?
MZKeepers: We focus on fun, high-energy pack openings and gameplay content, but we also aim to be the hub for competitive play. We’re both really competitive player, so that side of the game is a big part of what we do and want we want to bring to the Zoo Community.
MZN: You’ve mentioned wanting to make the game more accessible for fans and fill gaps in the community - how are you working towards that?
MZKeepers: We’re addressing gaps in the community in a couple of ways:
Our bread & butter is our deck builder that is built purely off of community feedback and suggestions in our discord. It even showcases decks that players submit with upvotes, so everyone can learn from each other and discover the new Meta. Not to mention a big part for them we implemented is there is NO LOGIN NEEDED!
MZN: You’re also developing a deck builder tool - what inspired that project, and what do you hope it adds to the community?
MZKeepers: The deck builder is now finished and continues to update daily off of Zoo community suggestions, it came from seeing how much the community loves sharing and experimenting with decks but wanted a simpler way to share them and pass them around. Simply put we wanted a tool thats easy to use and lets players share their creations. It’s especially helpful for competitive play, giving players a way to test strategies, refine their decks, and stay sharp.
MZN: What’s next for MetaZooKeepers? Any upcoming content or projects you’re excited to share?
MZKeepers: We’re really excited to roll out our player vs. AI model soon, which will initially be available for testing exclusively to our Discord members. On top of that, we’re focused on growing the local scene here in New Jersey with tournaments and trade events. And of course, we’ll keep sharing the fun stuff (cracking more packs from Torrential Tides and the base set for the community to enjoy.)
MZN: Where can players and fans find your work online?
MZKeepers: Our website and discord are probably the best outlets! Just remember if you want to give our player vs CPU tool a try to pop in the discord to say hello!

MZN: Anything else you’d like to add that we haven’t covered?
MZKeepers: Just that we really appreciate the MetaZoo community and love being part of it. Everything we do with MetaZooKeepers is about sharing the excitement, supporting players, and helping the game grow. We’re always looking for new ways to engage with fans, so we’re excited to see where the community takes us next. We look forward to doing our weekly community giveaways in the discord for packs, cards and boxes!
MZN: Thank you for the interview! We really appreciate what you're doing for the community!
As MetaZooKeepers looks ahead, their player vs. AI model, weekly Discord giveaways, and local tournaments all point to one goal: building a stronger, more connected community around the game. With a blend of competitive edge and community-driven projects, Squiggz and Zren are proving that MetaZoo content can be both fun and foundational for the future of the Zoo.
