Casters,
MetaZoo’s presence continues to grow both in stores and at conventions. During this week’s MetaZoo Monday, Charlie Hurlocker confirmed that blisters will be arriving in big box retailers this holiday season and announced multiple artist appearances that highlight the game’s expanding global footprint.
MetaZoo Blisters Hit Big Box Stores This Holiday
In one of the most consequential pieces of news, Charlie confirmed that the highly anticipated MetaZoo blister packs will arrive in big box stores soon.
It’s a short but significant statement. Blister packs appearing in major retail chains means MetaZoo will be in front of entirely new audiences, from casual collectors to curious players who have yet to experience the game firsthand. The move also signals a return to traditional product visibility, something the brand had stepped away from during its transition to the new MetaZoo era. Though this also likely confirms that the "Boo-ster Blisters" may not be the end product we see on store shelves since they won't see the light of day before Halloween.
Fran and Pierre Headline MetaZoo’s biggest Collect-A-Con yet.
Charlie followed up with a piece of news that drew immediate excitement from the community: the first international artist signing in the United States will be a double feature.
The event will take place at Collect-A-Con New Jersey, where Fran Lobato and Pierre Broissand will sign your favorite MetaZoo cards and can even doodle something fun on your collection! NJ will be a convention that you don't want to miss!
Shifting gears to this week's Collect-A-Con in Houston, Charlie also announced that fan favorites Sebastian Botello and Poncho will be on site to sign cards and chat MetaZoo with attendees.
Community Play Expands
In between announcements, Charlie discussed ways the game can reach more players through alternative formats. When asked if booster boxes were draftable, he replied:
While lighthearted, the story illustrates that limited play is already being tested internally and out in the community. Draft and sealed events could become another entry point for new players at conventions or local game stores once the big box and OP rollout begins.
Building a Community, Not Just a Brand
Charlie closed the session with a moment of reflection on what MetaZoo Mondays represent.
As MetaZoo heads into the holiday season with a major retail expansion and international artist signings, the focus remains the same: building spaces for the community to connect, collect, and create together.
