With Secret Shadows just days away, this week’s MetaZoo Monday delivered a lighter news cycle, but Charlie and Ben filled the space with one of the biggest spoiler drops to date. From a brand-new alternate win condition to a triple-Duel mythic bruiser, and even the debut of six Caster Legend Rares, this final preview before release packed a serious punch.
Below is a full breakdown of every card that was revealed!
Feilong - A Game-Ending Myth
Charlie opened the night by unveiling some Pierre and Fran spoilers ahead of their appearances at the NJ Collect-A-Con, starting with Feilong, a soaring Eastern dragon that ended up being one of the most impactful spoilers yet.
Feilong is a Super Rare (2 star) Air Aura creature with a cost of 7 and in influence of 4, which may seem like a strange combination until you read the ability text. The ability, Divine Wind, creates a new and creative win condition that can overwhelm your opponent. The ability text reads:
Yes, you read that right. Feilong introduces the second alternate win condition in the revamped MetaZoo, rewarding Soar focused builds with a crazy endgame. Casters such as Diana Rosari (+2 Influence to Soar Units when in play) and Archive (+2 Influence to Creatures that Move) will reign supreme.
Minotaur - A Lane Clearing Brute
Charlie followed up with another heavy hitter: Minotaur, a hulking Earth Aura creature alternate art card illustrated by Fran Lobato. This creature has a cost of 8 and an influence of 12, creating one of the most intimidating creatures in the game to date.
It's high influence totals are complimented by its ability entitled Unstoppable Bull Rush. The ability text reads:
That is three duels the moment it touches the board! This can be especially useful if an opposing caster has their lane filled with buffed tokens or low to medium influence creatures.
Caster Legend Rares - The First of Their Kind
In one of the most surprising developments of the night, Charlie unveiled the first wave of Caster Legend Rares: a full-art styled variants of iconic casters, all retaining their original abilities. These cards also continue that pattern of adding last names to Casters that started during Torrential Tides.
Hidden Rare Wendigo is HERE!
Below you can watch the video spoiler of the Hidden Rare version of the Wendigo, complete in all of its textured glory. His ability Dream Curse hits every rival unit on the board, not just in one lane, with a hex token, giving Dark decks one of the most oppressive setup tools in the game.
