Casters,
This week’s MetaZoo Monday delivered a lineup that felt part campfire story hour, part design seminar. Charlie Hurlocker invited the community to share ghost stories before unveiling a string of new cards and hinting at new gameplay experiences that could expand how MetaZoo is played.
A Handful of Haunting New Spoilers
The evening opened with the reveal of Enfield Monster, an Earth creature that costs 3 Aura and carries 5 Influence. Its signature ability, Chase Down, lets players tap one Air Aura to move the creature, and, unlike most movement effects, it can be used multiple times in a round. This gives it an unusually flexible mobility role that pairs well with movement-focused casters like Archive in competitive play.
Next came The Crooked Man, a 2-cost Air creature that interacts with Dark Aura through its ability Crooked Claw. Tapping a Dark Aura places a Hex Counter on each unit in its lane. Every Hex Counter reduces a unit’s Influence by 1 during missions. The design introduces lane-wide debuffs that could shift how players contest Influence.
Later in the session, Charlie revealed Hat Man, a Dark Aura creature with 3 Influence and no special ability. Illustrated by community favorite Sebastian Botello (Seb), the simplicity is intentional: a flavorful nod to urban-legend minimalism that relies on art and theme more than mechanics.
Two more spoilers closed the show. Stickman of Clark County, an Electric Aura creature, lets a player discard a card to “create up to two friendly Spark tokens in a lane.” Finally, Colorado Springs Elf brings lightning support with its ability Mallet Mayhem: “Tap a Lightning Aura; each friendly token gains +1 Influence this round.” Together they highlight an emerging focus on token generation and synergy across aura types.
