MetaZoo Monday Returns
MetaZoo Monday returned this week after a short hiatus and came back with a bang! Charlie Hurlocker opened the evening by noting how difficult it has been to balance MetaZoo Monday with Collect-A-Con travel and overlapping team duties. He confirmed that the community sessions will continue through the end of the season, with a smoother schedule planned for 2026.
Fans have been eager for regular opportunities to engage with the team and hear updates firsthand, making the prospect of a steadier schedule encouraging news.
Prize Pack Series 1 Returns to the Spotlight
Prize Packs were first revealed earlier this year as part of MetaZoo’s updated Organized Play Showcase, offering exclusive promotional cards for tournament participants and event winners. On this week’s MetaZoo Monday, Charlie shared new details and a closer look at the upcoming Series 1 lineup, confirming its first public availability at New Jersey Collect-A-Con this November.
He emphasized that Prize Packs will not be exclusive to Local Game Stores. While LGS locations will have access and special opportunities, the product will also appear as rewards for larger tournaments throughout the competitive season. MetaZoo News previously covered the introduction of Prize Packs in July’s “Tools of Play” feature.
Loveland Frogman Revealed
The highlight of the evening was the reveal of Loveland Frogman, one of the first cards confirmed for Prize Pack Series 1. The Water Aura Beastie costs 2 Aura to play and carries 2 Influence. Its ability, Work Your Magic, reduces each friendly unit’s Overwhelm threshold by 2 within its lane, allowing those effects to trigger more consistently.
Illustrated by Pierre Broissand, the card features a playful yet confident design that captures the Pierre's style perfectly. The numbering “PZ1 016/020” indicates that Series 1 will include at least twenty cards, while the “Promo” symbol replaces the usual rarity icon to mark its status as an Organized Play reward.
Textures, Rarities, and Autographs
Charlie also previewed a textured version of the Loveland Frogman card, showcasing the layered finish that follows the artwork’s details and reflects light across the surface. He confirmed that Prize Pack cards will feature multiple rarity tiers, including textured and full-art versions.
This confirmation marks the debut of autograph cards within the Prize Pack line. Pierre Broissand will attend New Jersey Collect-A-Con for signings, giving players the chance to have their cards signed in person. Take a look below at what the fully texturized card looks like!
